Malaria Deaths Down

Yep, you read that right!  One of the top stories on the WHO website explains that deaths caused from Malaria are decreasing.  Due to the "the widespread use of bed nets, better diagnostics and a wider availability of effective medicines to treat malaria," the disease has reduced 33% in Africa since 2000.

Malaria is one disease that can be prevented when traveling abroad to countries such as Uganda and India.  If you are going with HELP to do volunteer work this summer, you will be required to receive immunizations and take Malaria pills.  Don't worry, we've got you covered!!
